THE NEXUS BETWEEN STRESS MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUE AND ACADEMIC STAFF PERFORMANCE: A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO FOSTERING ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

Abstract

This study examined the impact of stress management on staff performance, with a focus on priori-tization skills, minimal time wastage, and the utilization of time management tools, in organiza-tions. The study adopted a descriptive survey research design involving 282 respondents out of 956 academic staffs of Federal university of Wukari, multiple regression was used for data analysis. Findings reveal significant effects of prioritization skills, minimal time wastage, and the use of time management tools on academic staff performance. Prioritization skills negatively affect perfor-mance, while minimal time wastage and the use of time management tools positively influence it. The study contributes to the understanding of stress management strategies in organizations, given recommendations for enhancing staff performance and well-being. The study recommends that university should conduct training sessions or workshops for academic staff on effective prioritiza-tion techniques and strategies. Also recommended is the implementation of time management strategies and policies within the university to minimize time wastage and investment and promo-tion in the use of time management tools and technologies.
