Abstract

In spite of the successive administration in Nigeria to create enabling environment for SMEs to thrive, the Enterprise has continued to make a declining contribution to the national GDP (Gross Domestic Product) in recent times. This study investigated impact of continuous process improvement and top management commitment strategies on the performance of selected SMEs in AMAC-Abuja. The study adopted descriptive survey design and used structured questionnaire for primary data collection. The research population comprises of 385 staff of the selected SMEs in AMAC- Abuja. It uses multiple regression through smart PLS-SEM for data analysis. The findings of the study revealed that Continuous process improvement has a negative but insignificant impact on the performance of Chosen SMEs in AMAC-Abuja, while Employee involvement positively and significantly affects the performance of selected SMEs in AMAC-Abuja. The study therefore recommended that SME owners, managers, and employees should be involved in the development and implementation of process improvement initiatives. Their input can help tailor these processes to better fit the unique challenges and opportunities within their businesses. SME owners and managers should establish a recognition program that acknowledges and rewards employee contributions. This can boost morale and motivate employees to be more involved and productive.
